El Vergel rejoins the Restaurants Against Hunger Campaign

One more year we want to share with you that our Ecological Vegetarian Restaurant joins the solidarity campaign “Restaurants against Hunger”, organized by the NGO Acción Contra el Hambre, a praiseworthy initiative to fight against child malnutrition by serving “the dishes that feed”. Until November 15th, all of you who consume our Special Menu will be collaborating with this cause that seeks to help the most needy, fighting child malnutrition with the help of everyone.

Unfortunately today more than seven hundred million people live threatened by hunger, in fact sadly acute malnutrition represents the second cause of infant mortality. With a little help, through the campaign “Restaurants against Hunger”, the NGO Action against Hunger can do a lot to prevent any child from dying of hunger.

Acute malnutrition is the result of hunger. While a part of the population lives in abundance and waste of food, another part dies because they have nothing to put in their mouths. It is a devastating epidemic of immense proportions that affects fifty-two million children under the age of five worldwide. Through campaigns like the one we have joined at El Vergel Restaurant, Action Against Hunger is fighting acute malnutrition with ready-to-use therapeutic products that allow malnourished children to be treated at home – a revolution in the fight against malnutrition. Until a few years ago, severe acute malnutrition could only be treated in a hospital; now, thanks to this improvement, many more sick children can be treated.

From El Vergel we want to appeal to your solidarity, because with a small gesture a lot can be done against hunger and child malnutrition. Until November 15th, eating our Special Menu is synonymous with solidarity and donation to the campaign “Restaurants against Hunger”. We are waiting for you!
